Catherine Malandrino a adus prin colectia toamna/iarna 09/10, un real omagiu creatiilor Elsei Shiaparelli. Aceasta din urma, a devenit celebra pentru indrazneala croiurilor, a imprimeurilor, dar si datorita colaborarii cu Salvador Dali si Jean Cocteau. Desenele suprarealiste si palaria sub forma de pantof sunt cateva elemente ce au constituit sursa de inspiratie pentru Malandrino. Culorile neutre folosite cu predominanta, hainele din blana naturala si penajul ce subliniaza liniile trupului sunt acele detalii care descriu un personaj "Over the Rainbow" - visator, eteric, delicat, de un lux discret.

Intr-un articol din editia online a Marie Claire, Alexa Chung isi stilizeaza propria aparitie. Ador look-ul ei relaxat, dar chic. Si nu numai asta, ci faptul ca imbina piese high&low price - spre exemplu, un taior Chanel cu o fusta mini H&M.
It's On with Alexa Chung se difuzeaza pe MTV USA din iunie 2009. Pe langa job-ul de prezentator tv, Alexa este si model, ultima oara defiland in cadrul London Fashion Week, pentru colectia s/s 2009 Vivienne Westwood Red Label.

Looking at some photos from the fall ad campaigns, one of them caught my eye. Never heard of the brand and I could hardly find something about the designers behind the project. Spijkers en Spijkers was created by twin sisters Truus and Riet Spijkers in 2000. The two graduated from the College of the Arts in Arnhem, Netherlands and completed an MA at the Fashion Institute Arnhem.
Their debut design collaboration earned the pair the Robjin Fashion Award. Since then, they've presented their Art deco inspired collections at London Fashion Week. In February 2007 they launched their diffusion line “SIS” in collaboration with Urban Outfitters.
Spijkers en Spijkers’ design ethics is “form follows function.” For the edgy duo, beauty is as crucial as wearability. In studio, Truus would take up the “painter” work looking after style and colours, while Riet would supervise the “sculptor” work bringing the two-dimensional design concepts to life. Influenced by the Art Deco and Modernism of the early 1920s, Spijkers en Spijkers aspire to create the clothes that challenge the unified notion of ideal femininity but at the same time enhances female sensuality. Their signature lies in the mix of soft material with strong and clear geometrical forms. (Citation from Hywel Davies’s 100 New Fashion Designers).

Lesley Hornby aka Twiggy s-a nascut in 1949 la Londra. Primul ei job a fost cel de asistenta intr-un coafor, pentru ca la varsta de 16 ani sa se lanseze in modelling. Stilul ei a devenit iconic pentru moda anilor '60: fusta mini, parul tuns scurt si genele desenate cu tus. Twiggy si-a trecut in CV de-a lungul timpului, roluri in filme si in piese de teatru pe scena londoneza si cel de gazda a propriei serii televizate.
Evenimentul aniversar va releva o expozitie gazduita de National Portrait Gallery si o noua carte. Twiggy: A Life in Photographs evidentiaza imaginea modelului, surprinsa in toti acesti ani de catre mari fotografi precum Richard Avedon, Annie Leibovitz si Steven Meisel. "E realmente interesant de vazut cum fotografia de moda si portretistica au evoluat pe parcursul carierei mele" a subliniat Twiggy.
